Runewords can only be made in <span class="d2-white">regular</span> items, and the socket count must be exact. They ''cannot'' be made in items whose rarity is <span class="d2-blue">magic</span> or higher.
Melee Weapons include all non-ranged weapons except Orbs. Technically, Wands are still classified as melee weapons despite their similarities to orbs and lack of melee splash damage.
